COAX Pro 50 connectors are a result of bespoke 50-ohm connector design, each having been developed by the COAX design team to meet specific customer requirements. Whist they are predominantly based on familiar 50-ohm interfaces such as N-type, TNC, SMA etc. all COAX Pro 50 connectors possess special features not found with a standard off-the-shelf product.

Project Spotlight: Accommodating Temperature Changes

Changes in temperature can cause connector and cable materials to expand and contract, affecting connector performance through loss or degradation of signal. The COAX Pro 50 TNC Straight Plug with Easy Fit Anti-Piston Contact (13-018-Q3-DO) was originally designed for a client by the COAX team, to specifically overcome this challenge. Anti-piston or anti-rifling connectors with a 2-part contact design like the one above allow the centre conductor to slide within the connector, where expansion and contraction of the cable centre conductor due to temperature changes is found. This COAX Pro 50 connector also features a white bronze connector body in place of the normal nickel body plating of a TNC providing enhanced corrosion resistance.
