COAX Connectors will be showing the world’s first 48-way 12G video patchbay system at NAB 2019.
The 12G, 48-way microMUSA by COAX Connectors is the world’s first 1U 48-way 12G video patchbay system. This newly designed 12G 48-way patchbay system includes panels, U-links and patchcords. The system delivers 4K performance exceeding SMPTE ST2082-1, and is suitable for composite and component video. The rear of the 12G, 48-way microMUSA is populated with 48 high-density True 75 ohm 12G Micro BNC (HD-BNC) connectors, delivering full 12G performance whist saving space and reducing weight. Patchcords for the 12G, 48-way microMUSA use 12G rated cable. Correct mating is easily achieved thanks to a detent feature in the connectors. U-link bodies are made of cast metal and include finger grips for ease of insertion or extraction.
The 12G 48-way microMUSA patchbay system delivers a much higher density of 12G connectors in a 1U panel than has ever been possible before. Use of 48 Micro BNC (HD-BNC) connectors at the rear of the panel not only saves space, it also reduces weight, something of real benefit in OB trucks and other places where space is at a premium.
